Born on September 24, 1979, Ameera Shah is a distinguished Indian entrepreneur and the Managing Director of Metropolis Healthcare, a multinational chain of pathology centres headquartered in Mumbai, spanning seven countries. Her journey from inheriting her father’s pathology business to turning it into a global healthcare powerhouse has garnered widespread acclaim and recognition.

Ameera Shah comes from a family deeply entrenched in the medical field, with her father, Dr Sushil Shah, and mother, Dr Duru Shah, being renowned pathologists and gynaecologists, respectively. Raised in Mumbai, she was immersed in a family of medical professionals, including her elder sister, Aparna Shah, who is a geneticist.

Ameera’s educational pursuits began with commerce studies at H.R. College of Commerce and Economics, followed by a finance degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Her quest for knowledge led her to work with Goldman Sachs in New York and complete the Owner-President Management Program at Harvard Business School.
